Client & Cleaner: A Respectful Partnership

Updated: Aug 28

Mutual Respect: The Heart of Professional Cleaning

At Hummingbird Cleaning, the greatest courtesy we can extend on both sides is mutual respect. Our cleaners work with care, dedication, and pride, and in return, we ask for the same respect for their time, effort, and humanity.

We strive for excellence, but perfection isn’t always possible. Most clients are kind and understanding and when honest communication is present, solutions come easily.

Why Respect Matters

Mutual respect reduces stress, miscommunication, and conflict. It improves teamwork, creates a more peaceful work environment, and ensures a more successful cleaning experience for everyone involved.

How to Show Respect to Your Cleaning Professional

  • Tidy up clutter before we arrive it helps us clean efficiently.

  • Please don’t leave out personal or sensitive items (e.g. used hygiene products, adult items, or drugs).

  • Be dressed and ready uncomfortable situations help no one.

  • Be present (or accessible) at your scheduled time. Cancellations under 24 hours or lockouts may result in a $100 cancellation fee or full service charge.

  • Pay on time our cleaners rely on daily earnings.

  • Speak with kindness we're not machines. Clear, respectful communication helps us meet your expectations.

  • Tips are appreciated, never required. If you’re happy with the service, feel free to show it.

  • Give us space to work try not to schedule during busy family time. If you're home, settle in a room we can clean first.

  • Wait until we finish a room before pointing out concerns. We're happy to correct anything, but hovering can be stressful and disruptive.

One Last Thing...

If nothing else, remember this: A cleaner who feels respected and appreciated will always give their best. We do reserve the right to choose the clients we work with and we value partnerships built on mutual courtesy and understanding.
