How to prepare for your cleaners (Residential Version)

Updated: Feb 11

How to Prepare for your cleaning:

Knowing what to do for your cleaners is the first step to experience a quality clean. When Hummingbird cleaning services arrives for your scheduled cleaning, please remove clutter before so we can effectively clean all surfaces – this includes items like:

  1. Clothing (closets, bedroom floors etc.)

  2. Children toys

  3. Dishes in the kitchen sink.

  4. Pets are to be put up, so they are safe and secure while we clean. We will not be held responsible for any pet related incidents.

  5. Try to move animal bowls to avoid chemical spraying in water or food.

  6. Remove items from shelves, to avoid items breaking during the cleaning process.

  7. Remove all personal items from sinks and surrounding areas to avoid being sprayed by chemicals. ( Tooth brush, shaving razors, contacts, dentures.)

  8. Bath items should be removed/relocated when possible so cleaning can be completed in specific areas including shelves.

**With making beds being free of charge we ask that beds be stripped and fresh linen provided. We will not make the bed if it is not stripped and clean linen is not provided.

What to expect before the clean?

Before our cleaning team arrives, we will review the details of your cleaning plan. Most customers are either at work or busy with other plans when we clean, so it is quite common for them to provide us with their garage code or a spare key. We cross-reference all house keys for added security. If you do not feel comfortable leaving us with a key or garage door code, please make sure someone is home during your scheduled cleaning time. Please note that a fee of 50% of the cleaning price will be assessed anytime access is denied without prior notice. If something comes up that causes a conflict in your cleaning schedule, simply give us a call. We appreciate a 72-hour notice but understand that some situations are unavoidable.

What to expect after the clean?

Once your cleaning is complete, we ask there to be someone present to do a final walkthrough, at this time you can point out anything we may have missed and we will take care of it right away. “But that’s not all,” we guarantee our work, once we leave you have 24 hours to let us know of anything that needs touching up and we will send a team out at our earliest convenience.

Once you are satisfied you will receive an invoice with a link to pay with your credit or debit card.

Payment is required 24 hours after completion of your cleaning. After 72 hours there will be a $50 late fee assessed and every 72 hours following. Not only do we accept all major credit and debit cards, Paypal, Venmo and Zelle, but starting 2023 we have Auto pay and ACH payment options.
